Apes,
legal personhood and the plight of Nim
Chimpsky "All in the Mind" - Find
Transcript. "In Austria, animal activists have taken
the case of a chimp called Matthew as far as the European Court
of Human Rights. Controversially, they're fighting for his right
to legal personhood. And, the incredible saga of Nim Chimpsky."
A landmark effort to teach a chimp sign language and raise him like
a human child. Project Nim became a scientific soap opera of epic
proportions. Listen to the podcast and promote how you feel about
the Nim Chimpsky case and what we do for Matthew? Slideshow "Primates

According
to world news sources, American film-maker Steven Spielberg has abandoned
his role in the Beijing Olympics. He was acting as an artistic adviser
to the games but now says his conscience could no longer allow him
to take part in the Beijing Olympics because of China's failure to
pressure Sudan to end the 'human suffering in Darfur'. The
five-year conflict there has killed at least 200,000 people
and forced two million others to flee their homes.
Sudan
sells some two-thirds of its oil to Beijing and China in turn sells
weapons to the Sudanese government. Steven Spielberg's stance has
delighted actress Mia Farrow, who has long campaigned on Darfur.
Facing
the expected yearly floods, we need the world attention over coming
months. People
are withouth food and shelter and require urgent medical aid.
